Who are We???

We are an inclusive community. Our roots are in Lutheran and Anglican expressions and understanding of spirituality. In our faith journey, we seek to live our community and indivudual lives in ways which honour the 'breath' (Spirit) which gives life to all Creation. We see in Jesus a unique and full expression of God's love and healing redemption. We invite other seekers and inquirers to journey with us as we discover and live God's 'Amazing Grace'.

The Gospel of John

Trinity Church Presents....

A Theatrical Performance of "The Gospel of John"

Sunday, January 24 at 2 pm at the Capitol Theatre

The Gospel of John was brought to life on Sunday, January 24 at 2 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre by three professional actors, with over 100 people present. David Anderson, Laurie Portocarrero and Glen Williamson of Walking the Dog Theater, Hudson, New York portray dozens of characters (including Jesus and his disciples, Mary Magdalene, the blind man, the adulterous women, Pilate, the Pharisees, the worshipping and angry crowds) in a modern yet poetic translation of the fourth book of the New Testament. The 100-minute performance is a breathtaking journey, inspiring and

accessible to all, regardless of faith background or belief. This live performance employs drama, choral speaking, storytelling and song. Using only two chairs, a table and a few cloths, the actors enliven the drama and poetry of the Gospel with simplicity and imagination.

"There's tremendous power in simply speaking and acting this story with faithfulness to the text, just playing what's written," explains Glen Williamson, one of the actors. "We use the actual text of the Bible and speak it verbatim. It's not an interpretation or adaptation; it's the Word of the Gospel."

The critically acclaimed production, first produced in the U.S.A.in 2007, is directed by Adrian Locher.
